OnStage Playhouse presents: Smokey Joe's Cafe

Welcome to the hottest joint in town and the longest running musical revue in Broadway history.  A superb tribute to legendary songwriters Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller, who ushered in the era of rock 'n roll by penning numerous songs that rose to Billboard charts in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Over 35 pop standards including "Jailhouse Rock", "Yakkity Yak", "Charlie Brown", and "Stand By Me."

Avenue Amps & Ales premiered as Chula Vista’s first craft beer and music festival in 2016, and it is now held each May. 

In 2017 the event hosted over 40 craft breweries, live bands, and food vendors at Memorial Park in Chula Vista’s Original Neighborhood. Participating breweries included industry veterans Coronado Brewing, Belching Beaver Brewery, and Ballast Point Brewing. South Bay flavor with Bay Bridge Brewing, NOVO Brazil, and the newest craft beer additions to Third Avenue: Chula Vista Brewery, Groundswell Brewing Co., and Thr3e Punk Ales. The event included tastings from Brussels Cantillon Brewery compliments of, Third Avenue member, Bar Sin Nombre. For those who like to expand their options and venture out of the craft beer industry, the festival offered fermented ciders, spirits, and wine!

Musical performances included: The Montel Jordans, The Routine, and Sprung Monkey.

The Lemon Festival has been a celebration of Chula Vista’s heritage for over 20 years. On Sunday, August 5, the Third Avenue Village Association will close Third Avenue to traffic and open the street to hundreds of vendor booths and over 45,000 attendees to rejoice in the juicy jubilee.

The Lemon Festival includes a variety of lemon-infused activities, live bands, sour contests, a kid’s fun zone, a craft beer garden and hundreds of festive booths.

Overflowing with interactive features and giveaways from community partners, this annual tradition is more refreshing than the fresh-squeezed lemonade offered in abundance.

The Taste of Third returns to Third Avenue Village on Thursday, March 8, from 4-8 pm. This annual self-guided tasting tour takes ticket holders on a tantalizing trip through the tree-lined streets of Chula Vista’s Original Neighborhood.
